Steps

  • With Spring upon us and beautiful warmer weather, choose a sunny day to do this activity
  • Invite the child, letting them know that for this activity they will be going outside
  • Invite the child to get ready accordingly (apply their own sunscreen, put on a hat, shoes and socks etc)
  • Let the child know they will need to bring a basket to collect some natural objects outdoors to make leaf people
  • Go with a walk outdoors (either in the backyard or around your local area), collecting natural materials, for example, large leaves, twigs, acorns, stones etc
  • Once the child has finished collecting the items, find a place where they can create their leaf people (an outdoor table is ideal)
  • Bring the craft glue
  • Let the child know that they are going to use the items they collected to make leaf people
  • Make an example for the child without using the glue to stick the items down
  • Invite the child to make leaf people

Variations
